Since our beginnings in 1928, Luther Home of Mercy has worked to expand
opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.  We strive to create
and provide quality programs and services with the goal of empowering people
to live creative and fulfilling lives.

Luther Home’s newest program site, The Emmaus Community Center, is
located in Oregon, Ohio at the corner of Corduroy and Stadium Roads.

This 5000 square foot building houses daily programs and activities for
adults experiencing developmental disabilities.   Here we work on the development
of daily living skills such as cooking and nutrition, home care, and money management,
as well as exploring recreation and leisure activities.

For those interested in employment, job coaches are available as clients transition
to work environments or begin their own micro-enterprises.

Even more, The Emmaus Community Center offers a spot for social gatherings
in the evenings and weekends.  Here clients can gather for movie parties, dances,
picnics and other events designed to increase interaction and decrease isolation.
Finding common interests and developing friendships is the central theme of these
planned events.

For more information about the Emmaus Community Center, or to arrange for
a tour, please contact Shelly Coker at 419-725-0170 ext. 661 or e-mail at:
